Foundation Projects

The Olympia Fields Country Club Historic Landmark Foundation has funded  quite a number of projects since its inception, some of which are ongoing. The projects we have been able to contribute to, or fund outright, have included everything from historic restorations to all-important building maintenance. Each one has its own importance in keeping our 100-plus year old clubhouse in the shape it needs to be.

None of these projects would be possible without our donors. From the simple to the grandiose, these projects improve our clubhouse and and our history, and as such, we are very thankful for those who support us.

If you have an interest in helping more projects like these possible, be sure to check out our "Donate" page, and if you already donate to our wonderful foundation, we thank you for your commitment and hope that these projects solidify your support for our Club and its storied history.

About the Grants:
Formal grant requests received from the Club are categorized by the HLF as Level I or Level II projects. Level I projects are those that typically address an immediate need of maintenance or repair to protect our historic property (e.g. Pavilion Room roof, Clock Tower exterior). If not for the HLF, Level I projects would be funded by the Club from normal member dues or may be deferred for a lack of currently available funds. Level II projects are best described as those that may be “out of reach” of current member dues levels and typically relate to projects that restore distinct architectural aspects of the Clubhouse (e.g. Normandy Room windows). Absent the HLF, Level II projects would most likely be funded by member assessment or deferred indefinitely.

Future Possible Projects

Working with our consulting architect and the Club the HLF has identified many future projects. The challenge for the HLF is to prioritize the many needs and balance the Level I projects with the more visual and architecturally significant
Level II projects. More importantly though, the HLF must balance grant approvals with the expected level of future contributions. Needless to say, the Clubhouse is a very “target rich” property for Level I and Level II projects.
A sampling of future projects being considered include:

Level I
Second Floor Windows
Normandy Room Roof
HVAC and Mechanical, Plumbing and Electrical Upgrades
Exterior Painting
Men’s Locker Room Roof

Level II
Normandy Room Phase II, III
Stairway Restorations
Archive/Historic Records Room
Memorabilia Case
Lobby Restoration
